DELAND METH LAB BUST SCORES FOUR

Last night at about 11:50 pm a patrol deputy of the Lake County Sheriff's office responded to 44608 Holly Way in Deland regarding an anonymous tip that a meth lab may be present in the home. Once on scene deputies asked permission to search the residence for a meth lab, the home owner, Dorothy Sutherland, granted permission.

While searching the home the first responding deputy, who had received training on identifying and mitigating meth labs, discovered a backpack in a closet containing the necessary components to manufacture methamphetamine. Due to the fact that one of the lab components was giving off hazardous fumes a hazardous materials team from the Lake County Fire Department responded and the home was evacuated.

Four individuals arrested during the course of the investigation were  Houston Busby, Nathan Revell, Florita Herb and Dorothy Sutherland.
