Lake County sheriff’s narcotics detectives arrested a Clermont man during the early-morning hours of April 6 and seized approximately $80,000 worth of cocaine and two guns after receiving information from troopers with the Louisiana State Police that a large amount of cocaine was being moved to Lake County.
After receiving the information Thursday afternoon, the undercover detectives worked quickly to coordinate their investigation as they prepared a search warrant and organized surveillance efforts.
The cocaine was delivered to Terence Martin at his residence, which is located at 16955 Sunrise Vista Drive in Clermont, at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Detectives then served the search warrant on the home and located the approximate five pounds of cocaine, as well as a small amount of marijuana, several plastic baggies, a digital scale, and two handguns, all of which were seized by the detectives.
Detectives also discovered that Martin is a convicted felon.
Martin was taken into custody for trafficking cocaine (over 400 grams), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Detectives are confident that Martin is a high-level drug dealer in the South Lake County area and is responsible for dealing large amounts of cocaine throughout Central Florida. The investigation will continue and additional arrests are likely.
