Members of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested Denise Diane Trzeciak, 46, of Ocala on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Trzeciak is the last suspect captured from “Operation Blue Forest.” The operation called refers to a large pill trafficking organization located in the area of the Ocala National Forest, and the street name “blue” (the Oxycodone pill), which typically sells illegally for $15 to $25 a pill.

Kelvin Lee Coleman Jr., 37, of Ocala, was indicted by Grand Jury for two counts of Murder in the First Degree and one count of Attempted Murder in the First Degree.

On April 2, 2013, Kelvin Lee Coleman Jr., 37, of Ocala, was indicted by Grand Jury for two counts of Murder in the First Degree and one count of Attempted Murder in the First Degree. Coleman was arrested on March 13, 2013, after two people were shot at the Vacation Host Inn, 3330 S. Pine Ave., Ocala.

Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives are working a double homicide. Two people were shot at the Vacation Host Inn, 3330 S. Pine Ave., Ocala.

Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives are working a double homicide. Two people were shot at the Vacation Host Inn, 3330 S. Pine Ave., Ocala. The first victim is a 54 year-old female who worked at the Inn since 2004. Her name is being withheld until next of kin is notified. The second victim is 42 year-old Lester Carter, who worked at the Inn for nearly a year.

Marion County deputies saw a white Honda that failed to come to a complete stop and the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Just as patrol units activated the lights and sirens, the Honda took off at an accelerated speed going north on Highway 441.

At about 12:28 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2013, Marion County deputies saw a white Honda that failed to come to a complete stop and the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Just as patrol units activated the lights and sirens, the Honda took off at an accelerated speed going north on Highway 441. According to the arrest report, the driver of the Honda continued to "flee down numerous streets and into yards."

Brian Thomas Ocedek, 28, of Belleview faces charges related to a burglary at the Marion County Canal Recycling Center.

Brian Thomas Ocedek, 28, of Belleview faces charges related to a burglary at the Marion County Canal Recycling Center. Marion County Solid Waste Department leaders contacted Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives, alerting MCSO that someone was taking scrap metal from the recycling center at 457 S.E. 110th Street, Ocala.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives learned Ocedek sold specific items taken from the county’s recycling center.

Ocedek is in the Marion County Jail on a bond of $30,000.

Lisa Ann Barfield, 48, of Ocala was arrested today and was charged with grand theft. Barfield is in the Marion County Jail with a bond amount of $2,000.

Lisa Ann Barfield, 48, of Ocala was arrested today and was charged with grand theft. Barfield is in the Marion County Jail with a bond amount of $2,000. An auditor with the Marion County School Board reported the theft of $851 from an after-hours school program at Dunnellon Elementary School. Barfield was the site manager for the program for seven years.

Barfield admitted to taking checks and money orders from parents of students who were enrolled in the after-hours program.

A suspicious package with a powdery substance was delivered and opened at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The incident happened around 8:50 AM, Friday, January 25, 2013 inside Sheriff Blair’s office, 692 NW 30th Ave., Ocala. The assistant, who opened the letter, immediately called for help and emergency protocols were activated. The letter contained a direct threat to Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) captured fugitive Bryon Killins, 19, yesterday evening in southeast Ocala. Killins was wanted by the Orlando Police Department for (1) first-degree murder, principle in the first, (2) first-degree murder, accessory after the fact, and (3) tampering with physical evidence. Killins’ charges stemmed from a shooting on December 28th, 2012 in an apartment complex near the Mall at Millenia in Orlando.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a crash in northwest Ocala involving a small experimental sport aircraft. The plane and 2 occupants flew out of northwest Ocala on Thursday, August 30 around 4 pm. Their final destination was another airfield in Marion County. When the plane did not arrive to its designated landing area, family members became concerned and called MCSO around 8 p.m.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives met with five other Florida law enforcement agencies to gather facts, photos and videos in a string of at least 17 commercial burglaries in the month of July. Detectives believe the burglars are targeting liquor stores and other businesses near the North Central Florida I-75 corridor.

U.S. District Judge Mary S. Scriven sentenced former Ocala Police Officer Dana Brown (37, Ocala) to six years and five months in federal prison for conspiracy to make false claims, aggravated identity theft, and exceeding authorized access to a protected computer with intent to defraud. The court also ordered Brown to pay restitution in the amount of $874,319.35 to the Internal Revenue Service.

Brown pled guilty on December 20, 2011.

On December 27th 2011 Ms. Lacey Marie Buenfil was with an acquaintance on Railroad Grade Rd. in the Altoona area of Lake County. The vehicle Ms. Buenfil and her acquaintance were riding in reportedly became stuck in the sand and rather than wait for help Ms. Buenfil reportedly decided to walk.
