LAKE COUNTY NARCOTICS DETECTIVES MAKE ANOTHER ARREST IN CASE INVOLVING KILO OF COCAINE

In early July, detectives with the Lake County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit initiated an investigation targeting two suspects who were looking to buy larges quantities of cocaine. During meetings with one of the suspects, identified as Ramon Luis Santana, undercover personnel, Santana agreed to purchase one kilogram of cocaine from the detective at a later date.

In early July, detectives with the Lake County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit initiated an investigation targeting two suspects who were negotiating the purchase of a kilogram of cocaine from an undercover agent. During several meetings and further negotiations, the two suspects agreed to purchase the kilogram of cocaine for $30,000 in cash. If sold on the street the value of the cocaine would be approximately $60,000.

Lake County sheriff’s narcotics detectives arrested a Clermont man during the early-morning hours of April 6 and seized approximately $80,000 worth of cocaine and two guns after receiving information from troopers with the Louisiana State Police that a large amount of cocaine was being moved to Lake County.

MARION COUNTY DEPUTY FINDS 10 LBS MARIJUANA DURING TRAFFIC STOP

Around 3 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011, Deputy Trevor Fitzgerald conducted a traffic stop at 318 Oak Track Crescent, Marion County, involving  a white Chevrolet sedan for a tint violation. When the driver, Jeffrey Clarke, opened the door, Deputy Fitzgerald could smell a strong odor of marijuana and saw a plastic bag hanging out of Clarke’s pocket. Clarke was placed in handcuffs and put in the deputy’s patrol car.

THREE ARRESTED IN TRI-COUNTY NARCOTICS TASK FORCE INVESTIGATION

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Palatka Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the HIDTA Tri-County Narcotics Task Force arrested three (3) individuals after an intensive two-month joint investigation. During the Putnam and Marion County portions of this operation, agents seized three (3) kilograms of cocaine, two firearms and $69,167.00 in cash.
